Young Leaders Society

What is Young Leaders Society?
Young Leaders Society (YLS) offers a unique program designed to appeal to emerging leaders in our community who choose to LIVE UNITED.  The purpose of YLS is to develop leaders to positively impact their community.

What opportunities are offered to Young Leaders?
Young Leaders Society was developed to provide a forum in which leaders with diverse backgrounds, values and points of view come together in a neutral setting to intentionally and deliberately grow in leadership development.  As a member of YLS, you will benefit from educational, social, and service opportunities to help improve your leadership skills and expand your personal and professional contacts.

Who plans the Young Leaders Society activities and what activities can I look forward to?
Annual activities for YLS are planned by its Executive Leadership Committee comprised of YLS members.  Members of YLS can look forward to:

Developing Leaders Series are leadership development meetings and workshops featuring expert facilitators and speakers presenting on topics such as coaching and motivating others, leadership theory in practice, and effective communication.

Community Service Project is developed and carried out by its members to improve and strengthen the community in which we live and work.

Networking and Social Events allow members to expand their personal and professional networks.

Who can join Young Leaders Society?
YLS is seeking members between the age of 22 and 45 that exemplify its core values of Commitment, Excellence and Integrity.  Members must be committed to improving their leadership skills and be or become a contributing supporter of the United Way of the Brazos Valley.

How do I apply to become a member of the Young Leaders Society?
Young Leaders Society's intent is to deliberately grow the organization in a manner that will allow us to execute our purpose and maintain our core values of Commitment, Excellence, and Integrity.  Each potential member must complete an application by June 15, 2009 at 5:00 pm.  To request an application or to learn more about YLS, email youngleaders@uwbv.org.
